50 Years Later! (Winnipeg Photographers)

Bob and Ilse, our friends and neighbours at the lake are this lovely couple, who recently celebrated 50 years of marriage. My husband John and Bob are childhood friends who spent every summer at the lake while getting into all kinds of mischief.

You can’t pick your neighbours, but John and I are lucky to have this couple as our neighbours and friends. We wish them good health and a safe journey as they travel back to their home in California.

Here are Ilse and Bob on their wedding day:

Destination Imagination 2020 (Winnipeg Photographers)

It was my pleasure to be a volunteer photographer for Destination Imagination, an event that my niece, Shauna Cornwell spearheads. This year it was held on March 10th at Ecole River Heights.

DI is a competition where teams compete with other teams in specific challenges. Teams that win at the Regional levels go to Global Finals. This year the finals will be held in Kansas City, Missouri.

You can find out more about this program at the link Destination Imagination Info

Here are some of the pictures that I took yesterday. I was particularly struck by the pantomime done by the group from Ecole River Heights. As you can see their production looked professional!

Beautiful Family of Twelve! (Winnipeg Family Photographers)

It was my pleasure to photograph this good-looking family last weekend on the event of the parents’ 50th wedding anniversary. We did this session along the river bank behind 529 Wellington.

Here’s a sneak peek of this fun family event!

We did some traditional poses but it’s always fun to just ham it up!

These are the grandkids. I wonder how long he could hold this pose?

Lori and Jason had their wedding ceremony last Saturday at Hawthorne Estates https://www.hawthornestates.ca in Garson. It was an absolutely perfect day with a beautiful bride and groom and some lovely backdrops for photographs. It was a bit hot; well it was really, really hot and I want to thank Jason for his patience with taking pictures.

Thank you to my wonderful assistants, Sarah Cornwell and Sylvia Jensen  https://www.sylviajensenphotography.com  . We make an amazing team and would be happy to photograph your wedding or any other event. Just give me a call and we can set that up.

Here is a preview of this wonderful couple. We wish you years of happiness, good health and many blessings!

Family Reunion! (Winnipeg Event Photographers)

I had the honour of photographing this family reunion at the Canad Inn on Saturday. Pictured here you can see the grandparents with their 6 grandchildren. It was the first time in 15 years that this family had been together. I can understand how wonderful that would be for these grandparents as one of my sons lives in Calgary and it has been a while since my whole family has been together.

I don’t think this family could have given a better gift for their 50th wedding anniversary than their presence at this event.

This is one of the granddaughters with her boyfriend. Aren’t they cute!

Unveiling of Painting of Daryl Reid; Manitoba Legislature (Winnipeg Photographers)

I love the variety in my job as a photographer. I do portraits of babies, children, families, head shots, weddings and the list goes on and on. Each session that I do is a new adventure with new people to meet and photograph. Photographing the unveiling of Daryl Reid’s painting at the Manitoba Legislature is an example of the variety in my job.

It was a pleasure to have had the chance to be a part of this special day and to photograph it. A special thank you to Sylvia Jensen, my friend and assistant for coming with me on short notice.

Here are a few images of this event.

Barb and Brian got Hitched! (Winnipeg Wedding Photographers)

Barb and Brian got married yesterday and had one of the funnest weddings ever!

I had a great time photographing this group of people, who made my job really easy. All I had to do  was set up a bunch of props and this crowd played along fabulously!

It’s always uplifting to see  a couple who love each other get married but this one was extra special because it was my good friend Barb, who looked smashing in her almost-white dress!

I wish Brian and Barb years of happiness as they navigate the road called life together.

Six Years Old Now! (Winnipeg Child Photographers)

I’ve been photographing this little guy’s birthday parties for a few years now. This year the event was held at The Children’s Museum once again. Last year when I was there, I was able to keep up with the kids running from spot to spot and got some great photos of them playing. This year, they were running  a lot faster and it was almost impossible to “catch” them in photos! I did get some great images from this birthday party and the great bunch of kids that were there.

The first image is of the birthday boy with his posed smile. I caught him with a friend in the second one and I love the smile on his face in that image.

There was a great turnout yesterday at Spring Sprint 2014 with over 500 attendants and over $80,000 raised. There wasn’t a cloud in the sky. The day could not have been more perfect!

Thank you to Scott and Shauna for organizing the event and for allowing me  to photograph it. If anyone sees themselves in one of these images or if you know that I took your photo, but it is not here, just email me and I will send you your photos. Yesterday was a very special day for this family of 19. It was the 50th wedding anniversary of their mom and dad, grandma and grandpa. To mark the occasion their children and grandchildren came from Japan, Vancouver and Chicago. I could feel the energy and the wonderful dynamics of this extended family and I loved being a part of it.

Thank you Maria for allowing me to capture these precious family memories.
