Dog Model Call! (Winnipeg Dog Photographers)

I haven’t done very much photography in the last few months because of health reasons, but I am ready and excited to take start working again, and what better way to start than taking some pictures of dogs!

So, I am offering my model call special again from March 18th to the 31st.

Let me know if you are interested or if you have a friend who might be interested. You can contact me at the number on the poster or email me at christina@chrismcwilliamsphotography.com.

A $50 retainer has to be paid before your session to reserve your spot. This $50 can then be used toward the  purchase of more prints/digital images or refunded to you if you decide to only get the free 8×10 print.

In the last while I’ve created some imagination, surreal dog images using a combination of AI and photoshop. Here are a few of them:

This is our dog Zara in her perfect symmetry pose. I decided to give her some wings and put her into a strange place.

This is our dog Maddie, who died on Christmas Day. I wanted to create what the rainbow bridge might look like.

Otis loves to run and sometimes when he is running he actually flies through the air, so I created an image where he is flying high!

I would like to create more images like these and so I need more dogs pictures to use. That is, in part, the intent of this model call. Can you see your dog in a strange land, or flying through the air? Perhaps your dog passed over the rainbow bridge and you would like an image showing that. Let me know if this is something you would be interested in.

Life With Dogs! (Winnipeg Pet Photography)

John, my fiance and I live with 3 dogs; all are rescue dogs with their own distinct personalities. At times life is a bit chaotic, but we wouldn’t have it any other way.

At times we are trapped in a small space as we are here in the car. Could they be any closer?

This is our pack taken on the top of my stairs, the perfect light was shining on their faces. It’s the best time to get a picture of the 3 of them.

ZARA

Zara is my dog and she the most playful. Zara loves find skeletons of dead fish, and bones of animals, as well as many, many toys scattered around my house. She loves Victoria Beach because she can run free and look for treasures. She’s a very active dog and loves her food. In fact, she growls at the other 2 dogs when they are getting fed. One can understand that as she was rescued from a reserve where most of the 2 litters that she was a part of  starved and died. She knows that food is something that can disappear and she’s going to get it! Zara is also very loving and we think she’s brilliant.

FERGUS

This is Fergus, the most gentle of our 3 dogs.  People are sometimes a bit nervous when they first meet him because of  how big he is but he’s a pussy cat. Fergus likes to go for walks and enjoys a good meal, but his main pleasure seems to be helping with the dishes by licking them clean. The odd time Zara can get him to play with her but it’s not often.

MADDIE

Maddie is our one-eyed dog. She had blastomycosis when she was a puppy and had to have an eye removed.

Maddie loves to play with Zara and often spends hours cleaning Zara’s ears. Zara seems to enjoy it. The most fun these 2 have is in the lake in the summer. Maddie likes to fetch rocks that we throw into the lake. She can retrieve them from under the water even though she has limited vision.  Maddie is not an active dog but she does like going to walk; just not too far. These 2 are best buddies!

Zara is 3, almost 4, so she should have a lot of years left. Maddie and Fergus are about 10 so they might not have a lot of years left. Losing a dog if the worst part of being a pet owner and we dread that time.

Needless to say we are dog lovers. Neither one of us can imagine life without our dogs. Our dogs, that follow us around wherever we might be; that patiently and quietly sit beside us at the table waiting for scraps to fall and that give us constant affection.

Next post will show some dogs that I photographed (besides my own!).
