Maternity Sessions!

Thank you to everyone who forwarded my maternity special to pregnant ladies that they knew. I photographed 6 beautiful mamas; six amazing women who were a ton of fun to work with. Some came with an older child, one came with her husband and 2 came with their dogs. I accomplished my goal of adding to my portfolio, trying some new ideas  and using the maternity gowns that I had purchased.
Here are a few of my maternity images:

Mother’s Day Special

___________________________________________________
I know that a lot of moms take pictures of their children, but often they are not in the pictures. I took a lot of pictures of my children when they were little, but I don’t have many that I’m in.

If you are a mother, this is the perfect offer for you to take advantage of.  Use it to book a session for yourself and your children. Or just for yourself.

This is a limited time special and is only available for the week starting on Saturday, April 14th. We will do the sessions in my studio or at an outdoor location.

This special can also be purchased as a gift for your mother and used at a later date. I can customize a gift certificate for you. Just send me the details and I can get that ready for you.

Please pass this special on to anyone that you think might be interested. You can email me at chrismcwilliamsphotography@gmail.com, or you can call or text me at 204-962.3424.

Hope to hear from you!

Raising a Reader

As many of you know, I was a teacher for many years. I taught grades 1 to 4 for over 30 years. One of the joys of teaching children in the early years is watching them grow as readers. Any grade 1 teacher can tell you how magical it is when a child starts to read.

There are many things that a parent can do to ensure that their child becomes a reader.

  • The single most important thing you can do is read to your child from the time they are very small. Make it an enjoyable experience and your child will associate reading with pleasure.
  • Have books around  house. Make sure you have books in a variety of genres; including fiction and non fiction.
  • Be a reader yourself. Children model behaviour; so make sure that they see you relaxing with a book.

Let me know if you have any questions or concerns about your child’s reading. I would be happy to help you.

We are Family! (Winnipeg Family Photographers)

I know it takes a lot of  effort to gather a family of 18 together for a photo session; especially if they are living in different cities. But the benefits of doing it are huge. The photographs from such a session will  mark a date in the history of a family. What a treasure to have!

This Grandma made the effort and  gathered all of her children and grandchildren together for a photo session at The Legislative Bldg in Wpg.  Some family came from as far away as Texas for a family reunion and this photo session was a part of that.

I enjoyed meeting everyone but the stars of the show were the 3 little girls featured in some of these images.  They loved posing and were so good at it too.

Two Cuties! (Winnipeg Baby Photographers)

The studio is looking a lot like Christmas these days with lights and Christmas ornaments everywhere.

Yesterday, I had the pleasure of photographing 2 little cuties who were all decked out for their pictures.

The first one was this beautiful 5 month old girl in her gorgeous Christmas dress.

Accreditation Images! (Winnipeg Professional Photographers)

The process of getting accredited with PPOC (The Professional Photographers of Canada), involves getting 10 images accepted in one category. The category I choose was Child and Infant Photography. I did not get all 10 accepted the first time I tried, but I stuck with it and got my accreditation this week.

The process of getting accredited forced me to get to a new level of achievement in my images. It forced me to look at some things that I had not thought of before in my images. It forced me to improve.

And that, at the end of the day, is the point.

These are the 10 images that got accepted:

I had the pleasure of photographing this 11 day old beauty yesterday. Little Miss K made us work for these images, but we got what we wanted in the end.

Look at this little beauty!

Hats, Kids and Fun! (Winnipeg Family Photographers)

It was a perfect evening last night to photograph this family of 7; lovely light and big shade trees, but  the best part was when the vintage-looking hats came out. It makes me think that I should get a few myself.

Have a look at these adorable kids and the hats.
