Christmas Portrait Special (Winnipeg Portrait Photography)

Christmas is just around the corner. This year I have 2 very cool new backdrops; as seen below. I put Taylor, my dog to work today to be my model. As you can see, he didn’t enjoy it but he does sit still. Mostly that’s because I had him up high and he’s afraid to jump. I don’t ask much of him so didn’t feel too guilty.

This Christmas special includes a 20 minute session and one digital image (of your choice)  that will be emailed  to you. You can then use the image in your Christmas cards. There are tons of templates for cards on the Internet, so you’ll be all set. All this for only $69.00. I am trying to limit this special to Saturdays in November but if Saturday doesn’t work out for you, we can do it on a different day. You will be limited to one backdrop, so pick stars, balls, or black.

In order to get your images to you by Christmas, all sessions need to be done by Dec. 9th. Please note, this special is for November only and does not include any children under a year of age.

Pets are welcome even if they are less than a year old! Hopefully, they will look happier than Taylor.

I know it’s only Oct. 18th, but with November comes family pictures for Christmas and I wanted to make everyone aware of what my Christmas Special would be. Starting on the weekend of November 7th, up until 2 weeks before Christmas I will be offering a 20 minute, in studio session for $50. With this session, you will receive one 8×10 and two 5x7s, or you can get a DVD of 10 of your images for an extra $100.00. (only $10/image).  This second option will allow you to use the images on your own personalized Christmas cards. I can also design a personalized card for $25 and include it on your DVD.

6 months old and cute as a button! (Winnipeg Child & Family Photographer)

Yesterday, I photographed a 6 month old little guy who I last saw when he was born. This baby is so cute, he could be a baby model!  Not only is he gorgeous but he has such a sunny disposition, it makes my job very easy.  And although M is their first child, there actually are two children in the family. The other is a very rambuctious, but sweet tempered dog named Louie. I am a dog lover as well, so I completely understand how dogs are part of the family. I got some great shots of Louie and M because Mom or Dad were controlling Louie. but it was more difficult to get a family picture with the four of them. I think the next time we’ll need an extra hand to control the dog and get him to sit in a picture with the rest of the family. I love the pictures that follow;

Happy Blue Eyed Boy

Yesterday I did pictures of a family with R, a2 year old boy. R, is the sweetest 2 year old that I have seen for a very long time. He also has the most beautiful blue eyes. What a gem. Here are a few of the images from this shoot.

Isn’t he adorable?  I feel really lucky to have had the opportunity to do the pictures for him and his family.

Today, I ventured out into the frigid cold temperatures to take pictures of M, a 2 week old baby. I can’t wait to edit those. M was adorable and very cooperative.

This past week, I also shot the Christmas Concert at ML and some pics of the beautiful Christmas displays at Sobey’s St. Vital. If anyone lives in the area, or even is just in the area, it’s worth stopping in. It’s a Christmas wonderland, with Santas, Christmas balls, polar bears, teddy bears, fireplaces and more. And all of it is on top of the coolers and freezers. All of this is designed and put together by Pauline, who along with her husband own the store.  Stop in and have a look!

I am in Calgary right now looking after my 7 year old grandson. He’s at a great age for doing all of the fun teacher type of stuff that I love. We’re practicing a play of  The Lion and The Mouse and today we made the sets for it. Ashton is getting very serious about reading his lines with expression. Our performance will be on Monday after his mom and dad are home from work, so we have a couple more days to practice. Ashton also wrote a letter to Santa today and we made a cake for his parents. So as you can see I haven’t done a lot of photography except for a few pics of him and I with some candy suckers.

If you are looking for Christmas gift idea, think about a gift certificate for a photo shoot. It’s a gift that lasts for years and will result in a family keepsake. It is also something that some people simply cannot afford and would apppreciate getting as a gift. Gift certificates that are given at Christmas can be used immediately or can be saved for the spring or summer when the weather is better and pics can be taken outside. (I am quite willing to also do shoots outside in the winter. )

 Here is one pic of him and I. You may wonder about the odd pose. Well, Ashton was not about to get off the couch so rather than get into a battle, I went to him. I wanted a happy kid rather than a certain pose. I think I was successful. It always is harder to take a picture when the camera is on a tripod and you can’t see what you’re getting but I was happy with a couple of them.

Christmas mini sessions

1 Comment

I will be offering Christmas mini sessions on Saturday, November 15th and Sunday, November 16th. I will offer mini sessions again if there is a lot of interest in them. A mini session is a 15 minute session with only 1 background. You can see the background that I wll be using in the images from my last shoot. Mini sessions are a less expensive alternate to a full hour session. Please plan around your young children’s schedules when booking a time for the sitting.  For the best results, have everyone wear clothes in the same colour scheme and avoid stripes, logos and patterns.
