Good Looking Family of Four! (Winnipeg Family Photographers)

It had been six years since I last saw this family of four. We did this session in our yard and also used the railway tracks. The light was harsh on the tracks but we did manage to get some great images. I enjoyed photographing them again.

This was the kids 6 years ago:

Cutie Patooties! (Winnipeg Family Photographers)

I love photographing children as they grow up and seeing the same families over the years. I’ve done a few sessions with this lovely family and their 2 sons, who are now 5 and 7 years old. We had a lot of fun doing this session at Kildonan Park.

Here is a preview:

More Beautiful People! (Winnipeg Family Photographers)

I have the best looking people coming for photography sessions. Just look at this family and you will know that it is true! We did this session in my yard, as well as on the railroad tracks that run right beside my house. I realize that we aren’t supposed to go on railroad tracks but these tracks are not used very often and in fact, when a train goes North earlier in the day, it always comes back South that same day. There was no train going North yesterday, so I knew that no train would be coming. As well, there are only 1 or 2 trains in a week.

I like sessions to be relaxed and fun for people. I think you can tell that we had a blast!

Victoria Beach Dog Show! (Winnipeg Pet Photographers)

The Victoria Beach Dog Show, which occurred today, is like no other. For this dog show, dogs just need to be cute and show up; so every dog is a winner. It helps if the dogs have a special talent, which many of the dogs had. One dog’s special talent was of returning waves when waved at. My dog, Zara’s, special talent was shedding and my step daugher’s dog, Kassidy’s talent is her spotted tongue. These unique talents got them awards, which included a dog mask (I assume for their owners), some treats and some poop bags.

The dogs had a great time wresting with each other, sniffing each other’s butts and just hanging out. My goal was to capture the dog being dogs; doing their own thing.

Meet Dr. Sara! (Winnipeg Head Shot Photographers)

I love meeting new people and talking to them about their lives and what is important to them. Doing headshots (what a strange name for a portrait) is a perfect time to do that and it was my pleasure to meet Dr. Sara a couple of days ago. We had a great time taking some pictures and chatting. Dr. Sara Korsunsky is a naturopathic doctor who works out of the Centre for Natural Medicine. She is easy to talk to and very down to earth.

You can read more about Dr. Sara and the centre at http://www.naturalmedicine.mb.ca/the-centre/our-team-naturopathic-doctors.cfm.

Here are a couple of sneak peeks at the portraits we captured:

A Very Special Graduate! (Winnipeg Photographers)

A couple of evenings ago I had the pleasure of photographing my great niece with her parents. I’ve been photographing this girl for most of her life and it’s hard for me to believe that she is finished grade 12. Sarah is not only beautiful, kind and smart; she is an amazing writer and will go onto university to become a teacher.

Here is Sarah!

Love this picture with the flowers behind her.

Sarah with her family and their dog Roo!

Sometimes the best images are candids. I love this candid image for the story that it tells. It is a slice of life happening and it makes me ask questions like: why does LC , the guy with the shades, has his knee on the dog! Is this his way of keeping Roo (the dog) under control? Does it work? Or is his leg just tired and he’s using Roo as a post to lean on? I also wonder who Sarah was texting? And why she has such a big smile? Did she get a really nice message from someone or is she just happy that our photography session is over.

Life in a photograph! That’s what this is.

Graduation 2021: (Winnipeg Grad Photographers)

Graduating from grade 12 is a special time for students and not being able to have a regular convocation or party is really tough, so a lot of parents are doing what they can to make this event special for their children. Yesterday, I met a few of the grads of 2021 in a special photography session.

We started at Kildonan Park. It was a lovely evening. The temperature was perfect but the wind was kind of brutal at times.

Love the smiles on these 2 girls!

The biggest smiles on these 2 best friends!

The girls pictured below are part of the provincial basketball team that won at Nationals; so we headed over to St. John’s Park to use the basketball courts. Note the medals they are both wearing! The wind was fierce here!

Basketball Stars!

Another friend arrived and was happy to pose for some pictures. We had a great time. Watch for more pictures here as I get these images edited.

PHOTO Fundraiser for SOHR! (Winnipeg Dog Photographers)

Spirit of Hope Rescue is an amazing organization that rescues dogs from 38 Northern Manitoba Indigenous communities and finds them forever homes. In 2020, these hard working, dedicated people rescued 546 dogs and processed 1395 adoption applications. They have rescued over 3500 dogs in the last 9 years! We’ve adopted 2 of their dogs and it both cases it was a wonderful experience.

I started a photography fundraiser to help with SOHR’s vet costs and other expenses that occur when you have as many as 115 dogs in foster care at one time. These expenses include blankets, kennels, leashes, collars, food and large vet bills as many of the dogs are not well.

Here are some of the dogs that have come for a photography session with their owners for this fundraiser.

I love dogs and I really enjoyed meeting these dogs and their owners. Plus I want to continue to help this organization, so I am continuing this fundraiser for the next month.

Contact me if you are interested in booking a photography session for your dog. All you have to do is call or message me at 204.962.3424 or email me at christina@chrismcwilliamsphotography.com and we can set up a time for you and your best friend. The cost is only $50 ($150 value), which is paid directly to SOHR (https://spiritofhoperescue.ca). There is no obligation to buy any more than the one 8×10, which is included with this cost.

I hope to hear from you.

Beautiful Family! (Winnipeg Family Photographers)

We were at the lake on the weekend where the fall colours were amazing.

When we got back to our house, we were shocked to see that the trees had lost 90% of their leaves. The trees with the beautiful red colours were bare! I had counted on fall colours for a family session. Fortunately, the trees at the back of our property still had leaves on them.

So that is where we did the session with this good-looking family. I enjoyed meeting and photographing them.
