Endless COVID!

This is an unprecedented and scary time in the world. Cases of Covid and deaths continue to rise in Manitoba. 

Things improved in the summer and I was able to open my studio and do some wonderful portraits, but now that can’t happen. Our case numbers in Manitoba are too high and the cost would be too great if my clients or I became ill. I’m happy that I was able to do some fall sessions outside, but the weather isn’t cooperating to do that now in November. 
So things are slow. 
I miss photographing newborns. I haven’t felt that it was safe to do newborn pictures at any time since the spring.  I have newborn outfits that I haven’t used and new Christmas backdrops that I can’t use. I know that many businesses are suffering and it is best to close shop. It is better to be safe.

Photo Restoration

Another great Christmas gift idea is to have some old faded photographs restored.  Here are some examples of pictures that I’ve restored. 

 It’s amazing how much information can be restored in old photographs! 

Estimates for photo restoration are based on how much time it would take me to restore your photo and would depend on how much damage there is in the original print. 

This is another gift that you would not need to leave your house to purchase. The original could be mailed to me or you could send me a digital copy by email. I would mail the restored print back to you. It would be a very safe and simple procedure.

2020 Grads: Miles Mac Collegiate (Winnipeg Photographers)

The grads of 2020 have missed out on the usual grad ceremonies and dinners but at least these grads got to dress up, get their pictures taken and have a party.

I enjoyed meeting and photographing these young adults and finding out what they were all doing in the fall. I was impressed by the fact that they all had plans for university and that they knew what they wanted to do.

The gowns that the girls wore were absolutely beautiful on them and the guys looked really dashing in their suits.

Finally; a session!

Finally, after 3 months of no photography sessions; I was able to do one yesterday!

It was great to see 10 month old L and his 4 year old brother for L’s 3rd photography session. One more session and this family will receive their photo book containing images from all 4 sessions.

We had to work hard to coax smiles out of this little guy but we got a few. Lucky mom and dad with their 2 beautiful boys!

I know for sure that I get the cutest kids to photograph and if you look at this session and the one before it, you will know that this is true.

This 4 year old beauty is a wonderful model who loves the camera. She follows directions like a pro and is stunningly beautiful. Don’t you agree?

Dog Days part 4 (Winnipeg Dog Photographers)

These 3 dogs came for pictures last night and kept us hopping, but it was a ton of fun. I loved every minute of it.

I had photographed this first dog a few years ago so it was great to see him again. This is Murphy, who is 9 years old and is a German Shepherd, Husky cross. Murphy was the best behaved dog last night and was easy to manage.

This is gracious, elegant Murphy.

Rocksy is a Boxer, Bulldog cross and is 11 years old. Rocksy had a few issues being with the other dogs and reminded me of my Zara with all of his snarling.  It took us a while to get him to sit like this but he actually sat and left the hat on  long enough for me to get this great picture of him.

I love retrievers and this 4 year old was as handsome as they come. Buster has a beautiful coat and lovely eyes. He was very excited to be in the studio and it took a while for him to settle down but look at him! He’s gorgeous.

It was Day 9 for this beautiful little guy  when he came to the studio yesterday. L. was a perfect little model, sleeping for the whole session and only waking up at the end. I loved photographing him and his almost 3-year-old sister.

Look at this gorgeous little guy with the long eyelashes and the perfect head of hair!

Today was session number 3 for this adorable little one and she was a perfect little model. Little J was not thrilled with her cake but we enjoyed watching her try to figure out what this was all about.
