Last night I had the pleasure of meeting Ingrid Johnson at the WAG. Ingrid has recently launched her latest book of poetry called Wounded Souls, in which she writes about her experiences as a survivor of sexual abuse. . I’ve read a lot of the book and really appreciate the raw emotions and the honesty in Ingrid’s writing. The strong voice in her poetry makes the reader feel her pain and have some understanding of the agony of sexual abuse. A portion of the proceeds from the sale of the book, as well as her CD of music, are going to the Laurel Centre, which provides counselling to women who are survivors of sexual abuse.
I enjoyed the concert very much. Ingrid was joined by a few other singers and other fabulous musicians to entertain a very appreciative crowd. Here are a few images from the concert:
